Professional Intense Pulsed Light Therapy in Denver

IPL Photofacial

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a non-laser therapy that involves shining highly concentrated and intense beams of light intermittently on the surface of the skin. Photo refers to the beam of light, and facial refers to the face and/or neck region, though this treatment can be performed anywhere there is sun damage. The pulses of light target pigment and vascular irregularities, smoothing out the skin’s tone and texture.

At Laser Beauty Works, we use only medical-grade, CSA-approved equipment for IPL Photofacial. All of our equipment is maintained and repaired by professional service technicians who have been certified by the equipment manufacturer. We care about your well-being and strive to provide the best possible treatment options for our patients.

IPL Photofacial Therapy at Laser Beauty Works

IPL Photofacial for Acne, Aging & More

IPL therapy helps to reduce the effects of aging, leaving clients with younger, clearer, and healthier-looking skin. It is not to be confused with laser therapy. Whereas laser therapy uses one particular wavelength of light, IPL therapy produces a spectrum of light.

IPL Photofacial is a popular choice for treating various dermatological concerns, including rosacea, age spots, sun damage, and fine lines. It can also improve skin texture and reduce pore size. The procedure involves minimal discomfort and downtime, making it a convenient option for those with busy schedules.

IPL Photofacial treatments require no anesthetic and they involve little or no downtime. As few as one or two treatments can reduce spots, smooth uneven pigmentation, help repair broken facial capillaries and veins, and reduce the redness associated with rosacea. Additional treatments will continue to improve tone, smooth texture, and stimulate the dermis to produce more collagen.

A typical treatment can last anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes. Because there is little or no downtime, you can have an IPL Photofacial during your lunch break. The ideal number of treatments will depend upon your skin and the issues you wish to address. We usually prefer a series of three to five treatments for you to achieve optimum results.

If you’d like to see some of our previous clients’ results, be sure to check out our IPL Photofacial Before and After.

We can book a complimentary consultation appointment for you with one of our certified technicians before scheduling any skin-rejuvenation treatment. At this time, you should also share with us any past experience you have had with skin rejuvenation and/or laser skin treatments.

During your consultation, please inform your technician of any medications or natural health products you are taking; and of any underlying medical conditions you have. These are critical details that we must consider when customizing your skin rejuvenation treatments.

We encourage you to ask all of your questions during your consultation so that we can address your concerns before beginning your treatment. It is important to us that: you are well-informed before you begin IPL Photofacial treatment, and that you feel comfortable with our clinic and your technician.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is IPL safe? Is it painful?

IPL is safe! When performed correctly by a certified, experienced technician, IPL Photofacial therapy is both safe and effective.

By definition, IPL therapy involves short, intense pulses of light being delivered to the skin. As a result, you may experience small raised bumps and redness in the treatment area shortly after your treatment. Temporary darkening of pigmented lesions and minor swelling is also common. This will subside in a few days and is no cause for alarm.

As a professional skin-care clinic, we will not perform any procedures without first assessing:

  • Your complete medical history
  • Your current health condition
  • Any potential you may have for complications

Additionally, we provide all clients with protective eyewear that must be worn during treatment.

Most clients like IPL to the gentle snap of an elastic band against the skin. Others experience it as a very short pinprick. While no anesthetic is required, we do cool the skin, which helps to minimize any discomfort.

How much does IPL treatment cost?

The cost of IPL treatment can vary depending on several factors. It is best to contact Laser Beauty Works for specific pricing information. We offer payment plans to make the treatment more affordable. Additionally, your first consultation with us is free, allowing you to learn more about the treatment and discuss your options.
